Total Garden Transformation with an UNO Max Garden Room

Before
After
Where to begin with this mammoth garden transformation project in Bearsden! When we first met the lovely Bev & Brian, (& Connie the dog who you'll find out lots more about as you continue reading!!) the garden in a conservation area was truly terrifying, daunting and quite an intimidating prospect!!
Accessed on foot via a winding staircase to the front of the house, and very steep steps to the rear, the garden had enormous, conifers taking up all the light from the back of the house. Bev & Brian arranged for a brave soul to remove these trees ahead of our arrival (phew!). The other major hazard was the terrifying deck structure that was way beyond it's life span and was masking no end of hidden challenges beneath! The old shed at the top of the garden wasn't fit for purpose so it aaallllll had to go, and it had to go by hand!!!

Before
After
First up late 2024 came the garden clearance. The shed, all the scary old decking and any remnants left below were cleared by hand, to skips in the street.
January began the actual garden room build. At 5.4m wide x 4m deep the UNO room was built on a ground screw foundation which can easily cope with the sloping site. The room will be used as a home office and has lovely views all across Glasgow. To maximise these views, our clients requested corner, bi folding windows to allow them to open out fully on the sunny days.
Externally the room is clad in Radiata timber which creates a gorgeous warm tone. This is complemented by the Newtechwood composite decking all around. Custom made timber balustrades were formed and clad in the same timber, with horizontal cables to minimise the disruption to the views.
This was the largest but most streamlined home improvement I’ve ever undertaken. I’ll genuinely miss having the team around!
All in all, I’m bloomin’ delighted!!! Outside In made my dream room & garden a reality. Thank you!
