Do garden room bars need planning permission?

Most garden bars don’t need planning permission if they follow Permitted Development rules. We can guide you through the rules and make sure your bar is fully compliant.
How much space do I need for a bar?

Even a compact garden room can fit a bar counter and a couple of stools. Larger rooms can include a lounge area, a fridge, or a games space. We’ll advise what works best for your garden.
Is it insulated for winter use?

Absolutely! Full insulation and double glazing keep it warm and cosy all year-round.
Can I combine a bar with other uses?

Yes, you could choose one of our DUO garden rooms and combine a bar with a lounge, cinema room, games area or hobby space.
Can you install plumbing for a sink or tap?

Yes, if you want a proper wet bar with a sink or small water supply, we can plan it in during the design stage.
Can I add a toilet?

Yes, we can install a toilet in your garden room. Typically, this doesn’t require planning permission, unless it turns the room into self-contained living accommodation. We can help you with any planning queries.
