Garden Room with Office

1.Room office

Our client was looking to work from home and create an additional space from which to enjoy the garden and entertain guests. We built this fantastic garden room, which is split into two spaces, to deliver just that!

This 6m x 3m garden room is accessed through sleek aluminium bifold doors with integral Venetian blinds. On warmer days, the doors can be fully opened to bring the outdoors in and make the most of the garden. When closed, a convenient traffic door provides easy access while the two remaining panels stay fixed, offering a flexible and practical setup all year round.

Here’s how the garden looked before the transformation began.

Inside the room, we created a dedicated office area (2.4m x 3m) to accommodate two workstations and all the necessary IT equipment for home working. Working closely with the client and our electrician, we carefully planned the layout to meet the space’s technical needs - from desk placement to network points and power access. The office is separated from the living room area by a sleek sliding door, helping to maximise space without the intrusion of a hinged door.

The heat source for the room comes from wall-mounted, energy-efficient electric radiators made from aluminium and heated via a high performance oil. Each unit features a precise digital thermostat and programmable settings, allowing the user to set specific heating times and maintain a perfectly comfortable temperature throughout the day. Thanks to the high level of insulation in our garden rooms, this system operates with excellent efficiency.

Flat roof VELUX windows in both the office and main garden room, along with small hopper windows on the side walls, allow natural light to pour in from every angle, creating a bright, welcoming space that’s perfect for both work and relaxation.
